You do need start and end date fields to use Visor’s Gantt view.
If you don’t have any date fields that you’re importing from apps like Jira or Asana, you can use Visor’s custom fields to plot your Gantt chart.
What data can I import from apps like Asana and Jira when using Visor’s Weekly Gantt chart template?
Visor has two-way integrations with apps like Jira and Asana. Here is a primer for how we work with this data.
Fields:
Visor allows you to import nearly all fields from project management apps like Jira and Asana. You can bring in dropdown fields, such as assignee or priority. You can also import other fields, such as sprint fields, date fields, and most custom fields.
As noted above, if you are using our Jira Gantt chart or Asana Gantt chart template (or any other Gantt templates we offer), you do need date fields to plot a Gantt chart in Visor.
Data hierarchy:
In addition, you can import any level across your Jira hierarchy (e.g., Initiative, Epic, Task, Bug, Subtask) and then add filters to show the level of granularity that you want in your Gantt chart.
Gantt chart milestones:
Gantt chart milestones make your project data clearer for others. Visor offers a milestones feature.
If you are importing data from other places, there are a few things to be aware of. For instance Jira does not offer Milestones. Therefore, you cannot import Jira milestone data into Visor. However, you can add milestones in Visor with your other data.
Can the Weekly Gantt Chart Template show multiple projects or just one?
Whether you are importing data from apps like Jira and Asana or inputting your data into Visor, you can visualize multiple projects in your Gantt when using this template.
Non-Integrated users:
If you aren’t importing data from other places, you can manually input data across different projects right into Visor. Visor’s custom fields feature makes it easy, offering custom fields such as dropdown, date fields, and text fields.
For Jira users:
